1. What is microfiber leather?
The full name of microfiber leather is "microfiber artificial leather". It is a high-end artificial material composed of microfiber (fiber with a diameter of 0.001-0.01 mm) and polyurethane (PU). Its core technologies include:

1. Substrate: Microfiber is usually polyester or nylon, and a three-dimensional mesh structure is formed through a needle punching process to simulate the fiber layer of genuine leather.

2. Coating: The surface is coated with polyurethane resin to give it waterproof and wear-resistant properties. Some products will also be embossed with textures to imitate natural textures such as cowhide and sheepskin.

3. Process: Through impregnation, coagulation, dyeing and other steps, the material is made soft and breathable. The moisture permeability of high-end microfiber leather can reach 5000g/m²/24h (refer to the 2021 standard of "China Leather").

2. Is microfiber leather?
The answer is no. Although the performance of microfiber leather is close to that of genuine leather, it is still artificial leather in essence. The core difference between the two is:

1. Source of raw materials:

- Genuine leather: directly derived from animal skin (such as cowhide and sheepskin), retaining the natural fiber structure.

- Microfiber leather: completely synthesized from chemical fibers and resins, without animal ingredients, in line with environmental protection trends.
